Lake Como Sports and Leisure

Como and its surrounding area offers an abundance of sport & leisure opportunities.

Golf courses, superb tennis facilities, squash courts, water skiing, diving, float planes, fishing, sailing and of course winter skiing in the mountains can all be accessed from Como and its neighbouring villages.

Golf

For the avid golfer there are many courses in Lombardia. Como itself is encased by mountains and does not have many serious courses. Villa D'Este Golf Club - Via Cantu 13, 22030 Montorfano (CO) - Lake Como - Italy5585 m, Par 69. The Villa d'Este Golf Club lies beyond the wonderful lake of Montorfano in a splendid setting in the sunny Brianza. The course is situated at a height of 1200 feet in what may well be described as a Scottish landscape.

Monticello Golf Club - Via Volta 4, 22070 Cassina Rizzardi (CO) - Lake Como - Italy 6376 m, Par 73 - 6056 m, Par 72. The wonderful lake Como, a few miles down the road, makes this a great spot for a week-end or longer holiday. The course is laid out in a plain lined with little copses and with the Alps as a backdrop.

Tennis

The Italians are passionate about their tennis and the sport provides for many famous names. The hotels in and around Como often have tennis courts. Check out the accommodation section but these hotels have courts: The famous Hotel D'Este in Cernobbio, Hotel Como, Grand Hotel Tremezzo and the Grand Hotel Imperial.

Squash

Not as popular but many of the local hotels have squash courts. Check out the accommodation pages for more information.

Skiing

You are not going t be doing any skiing close to Como, but within an hour or two you can be in the Alps or Dolomites. Across the Border and an hours drive away in the Canton of Ticino is day skiing at Bellinzona.
